Thanks for your interest in HeyGen Avatar Lite. To ensure the best results for your custom HeyGen Avatar, please follow the instructions for the footage. Your custom avatar's quality will look exactly the same as the footage you provide.

Requirements

• We require a recording of at least one 2-minute long uninterrupted speech. You can talk about anything you are interested in or familiar with while looking directly into the camera.

• You can use any camera to record the videos, e.g. Mobile phone, webcam or professional cameras. We recommend filming it at 1080p for higher Avatar resolution quality.

• Do not edit or cut the footage in the middle; it must be continuously shot.

• Do not walk or move around, stand still and avoid sudden head motions. Keep your eyes on the camera for the whole duration of the speech. Be natural and calm. Your avatar will perform exactly the same way as you do.

• Taking a Pause with lips closed is one of the most important parts of the performance. Make sure you take pauses with eyes locked onto the camera.

  • 2-3 second pause (Lips closed) at the start of the video
  • 1-2 second pause in the middle between long sentences

The Consent Statement

• A formal consent statement must be recorded and also sent along with the above footage. An example is given as follows:
  • I, John Doe, hereby declare that I authorize HeyGen to use the footage of me to build the HeyGen Avatar and use it in my HeyGen account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can the presenter use hand gestures?

• Yes, natural and general hand/arm gestures are acceptable as long as your gesture does not block your face, but please keep your face always fully visible to the camera without too much head movement.
• However, we suggest avoiding exaggerated hand gestures and directional gestures, such as pointing or counting, during the performance, since it may be hard to match the speech in the video creation.

How can I use the custom avatar ?

• You can use TTS in any language or upload audio to drive your avatar.
